LINDA SMITH

BSN, RN, CMC, CDP

FOUNDER | CEO | REGISTERED NURSE, ADVANCED CERTIFIED LIFE CARE MANAGER, CERTIFIED DEMENTIA PRACTITIONER

LINDA has her bachelors in nursing for many decades, is a certified life care manager for over a decade, certified dementia practitioner and nurse life care planner.

 

Her experience with caring for adults and seniors spans more than three decades. She uses the nursing process of assessment, critical thinking, and nursing diagnoses along with specific skill sets inherent to the determination of treatment needs and respective costs, across the continuum of care.

 

She provides coordination of patient care, construction of care plans and consultative services to families and professionals to determine treatment needs and respective costs across the continuum of care. Her tireless capacity to develop creative solutions results in positive outcomes for her clients. She is knowledgeable on a wide range of medical, psychiatric, disability, geriatric conditions and community resources.   Linda strategizes with medical providers, social service agencies, case managers, estate attorneys, financial planners and other professionals in order to maximize services.  

 

After receiving her bachelor of science in nursing from Simmons College in 1985, Linda gained a broad range of experience at Massachusetts General Hospital as a post operative surgical nurse, insurance quality and utilization review nurse at Blue Cross Insurance Co., then over 10 years nursing clients with complex medical and surgical conditions back to health along with assessment, evaluation, teaching, and medication management for Medicare certified home health agencies.

 

Linda is a member of The Aging Life Care Association, The Alzheimer's Association Partnership, The Mass Guardianship Association, the Brain Injury Association of Mass. and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for the town of Wayland.

 

She and her team are continually learning and staying abreast of changes in the healthcare & homecare industry. They offer stimulating panel educational events for professional groups and offer fresh perspectives regarding navigating the health care system, such as how to be an effective family advocate, how to plan for successful aging and more.

 

Raised in Weston, MA she and her husband/business partner have raised two daughters. When she isn't writing care plans, you can find her indulging in her love of country dancing, yoga and color analysis.

SOCIAL WORKER

Raised in En​gland, Deborah moved to Israel as a teen to become a professional dancer and then settled in Boston and became a licensed social worker. She worked as a hospital case manager doing care coordination, discharge planning. She counsels people with addiction, anxiety, depression and leads support groups for cancer survivors.  Her wit, charm and introspection helps h​er clients find meaning in their lives.

She is fluent in Hebrew.

A native of Japan, Seiko has a special interest in elders, dementia and care management especially for the Asian population. Seiko understands how to adapt to changing situations, is inspiring to her clients and utilizes her nursing and care management experience to improve a situation. Seiko and her husband raised three sons. She is fluent in Japanese. Seiko is the proud founder and owner of the new Boston Kaigo Helpers, a home care agency geared toward the Asian population.

Heather has a comprehensive toolset that leads to exceptional results of improved health and wellness for her clients. She states, "I am passionate about helping adults and seniors reach their potential through highly-focused, goal-driven programs and my clients have more fun as they stay engaged with the activities they love and want to do." Heather has lived in the Metro West Boston area for over twenty years. She and her husband raised two sons, now in their 20’s. She enjoys outdoor exercise, learning new hobbies with friends, volunteering in the community, gardening, reading, traveling and sampling new ethnic foods.

Meredith believes that listening to the patient and having fun is critical to developing creative, high-impact results. "I'm passionate about my career; it's not just a job." As a licensed, registered occupational therapist, Meredith began her career at a skilled nursing facility, where she became a rehabilitation director at several facilities. She managed interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams and worked closely with nursing services. Meredith owned a non-medical home health care agency which provided personal care and home making services to adults with disabilities and seniors. She focuses on delivering exceptional rehabilitation therapy while she and her husband are raising an adorable daughter.

Margarita was previously a Senior Editor at Houghton Mifflin and continues to be an international conference interpreter and a creative writer. She prides herself on providing world-class editorial expertise in English and Spanish, from translating a poem to conceptualizing and prototyping a new ancillary, to developing or editing web content or bringing complete books up to printer-ready quality. Margarita is a 2002 graduate of Harvard University in Literature and Writing. Fluent in Spanish and French.

DANA MICHELSEN

MS, PT 

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Dana has worked as a neuro focused physical therapist for over 20 years in many different Boston area skilled nursing facilities. Dana has a passion and skill for helping individuals maintain and improve their mobility across the lifespan. Achieving safe, functional & efficient mobility requires quality assessment and teamwork between the patient, family, community and medical team. Dana is dedicated to supporting her clients with her holistic approach for optimal mobility and care coordination to improve quality of life. 

She enjoys yoga, gardening , nutritious cooking and hiking with her husband, 2 sons and dog. She is a busy volunteer with a community food pantry and supports immigrants to learn English.

He has witnessed his wife’s tireless devotion to her clients for decades. "We pride ourselves on our ability to design individualized solutions which results in positive outcomes.” Born and raised in Chestnut Hill, Newton, a graduate of Penn State, his numerous interests include cycling, cooking and camping in the great outdoors.
